Ropsley concert celebrates the jazz music of actor and comedian Dudley Moore
A concert celebrating the jazz of Dudley Moore will take place this weekend.
The Chris Ingram Quartet will perform “Dudley – The Jazz of Dudley Moore” at Ropsley Village Hall on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.
Dudley Moore’s fame as a comedic actor and Hollywood movie star, as well as his complex and highly conflicted life story, overshadowed his gift as a witty and imaginative jazzman and songwriter.
The quartet deliver a scintillating live performance laced with anecdotes and insight, this heartfelt tribute – by an exceptional quartet – revisits Dud’s dazzling and fertile musicianship and reveals richness with feel-good sounds alongside a beauty and with heartbreaking emotion.
The Chris Ingham Quartet revisits Dud’s music from the 1960s when he was a television star. They bring a scintillating live performance using pieces from Moore that express the bright, upbeat and swinging 60s to others that are deeply poignant and personal expressions of a darker, more complex world.
