The Laguna Jazz Band performs its vacation mix of jazz and pop, Latin, funk and salsa standards at two free concerts in December.
They will perform Hospitality Night with singer Ginger Hatfield at 6 p.m. Friday. On December 9, they will be at Suzy Q at 5:30 pm Holiday favorites include “Santa Baby”, “Feliz Navidad” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.
The Laguna Community Concert Band performs their vacation repertoire, “Holiday Classics,” at the Laguna Beach High School Artists Theater on December 19 at 2 pm. The concert features favorites such as “Sleigh Ride”, “The Hanukkah Song” and “White Noël”, as well as a tour of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” and a singing finale. The show stars singers Candace Carvalho, David Stoneman, Rob Harriman and Lisa Morrice.
After a two-year intermission, the two groups are happy to resume public performances and bring the joy of live music.
“Even though we’ve kept the music alive through virtual recordings in 2020 of ‘America the Beautiful’ and ‘It’s the most wonderful time of year’, it’s great to come together again and play live, “said Mark Lowery, co-conductor. of the Laguna Community Orchestra.
