Discover the National Jazz Museum of Harlem – with TD Bank
The pandemic has affected almost every community – and has hit the jazz community extremely hard.
“We have lost hundreds of jazz artists during the pandemic,” said executive director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, Tracy Hyter-Suffern. “But the museum has worked so that artists continue to work, purposeful, vital and together.”
By bringing music online and going digital, the museum was able to introduce artists to a wider global community than they ever dreamed of by hosting virtual concerts and raising awareness through social media.
“TD Bank is proud to support the National Jazz Museum of Harlem. Through TD Bank’s Ready Commitment, we are committed to improving access to the opportunities people need to participate and feel a sense of belonging in their community. that is, embracing arts and culture to remove barriers to the arts for diverse, under-represented and emerging artists, ”said Yvonne Riley-Tepie, ed. D, Vice President of TD Bank and Senior Regional Director of Donations.
The mission of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem (NJMH) is to preserve, promote and present jazz by inspiring knowledge, appreciation and celebration of jazz at the local, national and international levels.
