Ezurio unveils Nitrogen95 SOM for vision and edge AI, expanding capabilities in a compact SMARC 2.2 form factor based on NXP i.MX 95. This high-performance platform targets industrial, medical, and AI-enabled applications, offering advanced imaging, edge intelligence, and pre-certified Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth LE connectivity.
At its core, the Nitrogen95 leverages NXP’s latest multi-core design, fusing Cortex-A55, Cortex-M7, and Cortex-M33 processors with a dedicated 2 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to accelerate AI workloads. This heterogeneous compute setup supports demanding edge tasks such as image recognition, predictive analytics, and real-time control. The module adheres to the SMARC 2.2 standard (82 mm × 50 mm) and includes onboard Ethernet PHYs, enabling scalability across processor, memory, and wireless configurations.
The Nitrogen95 is equipped with extensive I/O options, including PCIe Gen3, USB 3.1, dual 1 Gb and 10 Gb Ethernet, CAN-FD, and multiple GPIOs. It is designed for harsh operating conditions, with an industrial temperature range from –40 °C to +85 °C and secure boot for added security. Software support spans Yocto Linux, Android, and RTOS options, ensuring flexibility for a wide range of design environments.
To speed up time-to-market, Ezurio offers the Nitrogen95 Evaluation Kit (EVK, part number EZSMI-959-0816-00158-2-KC). The EVK includes the Nitrogen95 SOM, a carrier board, a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, and an Arducam camera module, along with all necessary power and connectivity accessories. A non-camera version is available as well. The DVK provides an out-of-the-box vision platform for evaluating performance, testing peripherals, and prototyping AI and human-machine interface (HMI) systems.
This vision system is ideal for industrial vision, robotics, medical imaging, smart displays, and edge AI cameras. The Nitrogen95 Vision System and Development Kit are now available.
