Jazz bands Austin High School and Ellis Middle School will present an afternoon of Big Band music starting at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Frank W. Bridges Theater at Riverland Community College.
The concert will be conducted by high school group director Christoph Dundas and Ellis group director Tim Davis. Performances include the AHS Packer Jazz, the Ellis Jazz Band and the AHS Jazz One.
A special feature will be the performances of guest artists sponsored by the MacPhail Center for Music. They are percussionist Paul Babcock on drums and singer Vicky Mountain, both from the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis.

Packer Jazz will join other artists from Austin High School, Ellis Middle School and the MacPhail Center for Music.
While the concert had already taken place at the Paramount Theater, scheduling conflicts led to the search for another space.
“We are very happy that there are many different places to play in Austin,” said Dundas. “While it didn’t work out playing at Paramount this year, we’re excited to be performing at the Frank W. Bridges Theater in Riverland.”
Tickets at the door cost $ 9 for adults and $ 5 for students.
