WHY?

This month-long program of 46 events for The Betsy Hotel’s 10th Annual Overture to Overtown (OTO) Jazz Festival pays homage to the historic ties between South Florida jazz and the National Historic Jazz Circuit that brought musicians who played in Harlem to New York to The Harlem of the South (AKA Overtown).

The culminating programs from April 29 to May 1, featuring Harlem legacy jazz pianist Danny Mixon, will take place at the Betsy-South Beach, Red Rooster in Overtown, Ocean Drive. The 10th Annual Betsy OTO Festival was co-produced by famed jazz singer Carole Ann Taylor and Dr. Deborah Briggs, Vice President of Arts and Community at The Betsy Hotel, with guidance from a Community Advisory Committee and support many global jazz sponsors/peers celebrating International Jazz Day on April 30 and National Jazz Appreciation Month (April 1-30, 2022)
